Whipworm
Trichuris trichiura, or whipworms, are parasites that are commonly found in humans and monkeys when there is poor sanitation and a warm moist climate.
Both male and female whipworms have a single gonad, or gland where gametes are made. During reproduction, females may produce a phermomone to attract males. The male coils around a femals with his curved area over the female genital pors. The gubernaculum, made of cuticle tissue, guides spike like structures that extend through the cloaca, or reproductive opening, and the anus. Males use spicules to hold the female during reproduction.
